Focus and Aim

DBS Applied Research and Theory Journal is an open access, annual academic journal published by Dublin Business School. The journal is a cross institutional, international endeavour which features peer reviewed articles from a range of academic contributors including students alongside faculty, submitted from across the sector.

A key goal of the journal is to facilitate high quality applied research across a range of contexts with priority given to research that is directed towards a practical application or implication.

It is intended that by welcoming submissions from across a range of disciplines the journal will bridge the gap between theory and practice.

We encourage persons working in the field of applied research wishing to communicate recent developments in their field to contribute to the journal. We welcome submissions with an interdisciplinary focus, from academic papers, to original research, to reflections and more.

Peer Review Process

All submissions are initially assessed by an editor, who decides whether articles are suitable for academic review and/or publication. Suitability is assessed in relation to the focus and scope of the journal and the article type.

Suitable articles for review are assigned to a minimum of one reviewer including guest reviewers. Submissions are assessed for their clarity, methodology and validity. Authors submissions that are not sent foward for review will be provided with feedback.

Academic review is strictly anonymous, meaning that reviewers are not known to authors and vice versa.
